THE NORMAN VEALL MEDAL

In 1991 a decision was made by Council to honour the memory of the late Dr. Norman Veall, one of the pioneers of nuclear medicine in this country, by asking members to contribute to a Norman Veall prize.

Commemorative medals have been struck and will be presented to the recipients of the award.

The first medal was awarded at the Society’s Annual Meeting in London in March 1994 and members are invited to nominate a clinical scientist who has made an outstanding contribution to the science and/or practice of nuclear medicine in the United Kingdom.

A panel comprising the President and two past Presidents, will judge the nominations.
