CATEGORIES OF MEMBER

• Full Member / Full Member Junior

Full Member of the BNMS is open to suitably qualified medical staff, clinical scientists and technologist (radiographers, medical technical officers) who are making an active contribution to the science, practice, or technology of nuclear medicine. Full Member Junior are the following categories of staff:

- Medical staff: Not holding a consultant or equivalent post.
- Clinical Scientist NHS band 7 (or equivalent) or below
- Academic Staff: Band 7 or below
- Pharmacist: NHS Band 7 or below
- Technologist / Radiographers / Nurses: Band 7 or below

• Associate Member

Associate Member is open to such persons who do not fill the requirements of full membership or who are eligible but not in career grades of employment. Council have the authority to decide whether a person comes within these categories.

• Student Member

This subscription is available to full-time non-salaried students enrolled on a recognised University Course. BNMS Student Members can enjoy FREE registration to our Annual Scientific Spring Meeting*, enter for the Student Prize, receive BNMS newsletters and access exclusive members only content on the website.
*In return we kindly request that student members attending the annual spring meeting volunteer to assist on site during the meeting for a limited number of hours per day.

• Trainee Member

Membership is available for trainees including STPS and those enrolled on a PhD or MD or PG course involving radioisotopes, who are normally resident in the UK or Ireland. Applicants should be enrolled in a recognised higher professional (ST3 and above) training scheme and possess a training number or be a research fellow. We will require evidence from your supervisor of your status and the end of your training date to be uploaded. On the completion of training you will be upgraded to full membership. It is not necessary to complete a new application form or obtain new sponsorship but you must inform the BNMS of your appointment.

• LMIC Member

Membership is available for Nuclear Medicine professionals who work and live in countries with low-income economies ($1,025 or less GNI per capita) or lower-middle-income economies ($1,026 to $3,995 GNI per capita), as defined by The World Bank Group.

Proof of employment in an LMIC country and a current CV must be submitted along with the
application form.
