Norman Veall Award

Norman Veall Award Nominations are now invited for 2025.
If you would like to nominate a clinical scientist who has made an outstanding contribution to the science and/or practice of nuclear medicine in the United Kingdom please use the link below
A panel comprising the President and two past Presidents, review nominations and award this medal.

Roll of Honour 2024 nominations

The Officers may appoint to the BNMS Roll of Honour, a small number of highly distinguished members who have played significant roles in the history of the specialty.
This honour may be awarded posthumously. Where possible the testimonial is presented to the next of kin.
All nominations will be accepted annually with a deadline of 31st December for awards in the subsequent year.

RTNG Award Nomination

The BNMS RTN Award is awarded to technologists, radiographers or nurses who have made an outstanding contribution in professional or technological aspects of nuclear medicine practice in the UK. The award is normally given to a recipient who has worked in the field for a while.

Please submit by 31 December by sending a brief statement in support of the nomination to BNMS RTN Group Chair or Secretary.
Nominations will be judged by members of the RTN Group Council.

Travelling Fellowship Fund

Each year the British Nuclear Medicine Society allocates a sum for the provision of Travelling Fellowships.
These funds are open to ‘junior’ staff only from all disciplines within nuclear medicine, provided they are currently Full Members of the British Nuclear Medicine Society.
Particular consideration will be given to those applicants who can demonstrate an established interest in the chosen subject.

Ros Breen Award

Any member of the Radiographers, Technologists and Nurses Group is eligible to apply for a grant from the Ros Breen Fund if you need money to attend a Conference or Meeting, to go on a course, wish to visit a "Centre of Excellence" anywhere in the U.K. or abroad, or have some other project connected with professional development in Nuclear Medicine.

Applications must contain a full estimate of costs for the project, details of any other sources of funding you intend to use and indicate that you have the support of you Head of Department. Please write to the Chair or Secretary of the Radiographers, Technologists and Nurses Group, for further details or to apply for a grant.
