NMSQG Resolution Recovery Audit

The IPEM Nuclear Medicine Software Quality Group has now launched an audit project to look at the use of Resolution Recovery software for reducing administered activity in myocardial perfusion studies. This project will enable nuclear medicine departments to try out manufacturer’s resolution recovery software to see whether it can be used with their own department protocols to reduce administered activity for myocardial perfusion SPECT without compromising clinical results. Any department in then UK that is performing a reasonable number of myocardial perfusion studies can be eligible to participate. It is not necessary for them to have resolution recovery software already installed as manufacturers are cooperating with the NMSQG to allow trial access to the software if users have suitable equipment. Departments will use their own patient data to compare normal and half-count studies, but no repeat acquisitions will be needed as the NMSQG have a facility to generate simulated half-count data from existing studies. Full details can be found on the NMSQG web site (http://nmsqg.org)
