Introduction to Radionuclide Imaging
Four-day course offered by the Postgraduate and Continuing Education Unit
This course is designed for medical technical officers, clinical scientists, radiographers and radiologists working in the NHS who are new to the subject. Knowledge of the relevant basic physics is assumed.
The course will provide a comprehensive introduction to the techniques of Radionuclide Imaging. It will inform participants of the basics of radioactivity, instrumentation (especially gamma cameras and computers), radiation protection and clinical techniques. It will also inform them about the preparation of radiopharmaceuticals and their use in clinical diagnosis.
