Abstract

This document is intended to reflect best practice for the radiolabelling of blood components in the UK, and is offered to the Nuclear Medicine community as a reference source based on opinions and experience from senior practitionrs of radiopharmacy.

Very little evidence-based information exists on the subject, and thus the guidance represents current agreed practice in the field.

The discontinued products paper has been produced as a result of the BNMS summit meeting in February 2009 and has been given the approval of the MHRA by Graham Matthew who was also present at the summit.

The Chief Pharmacists document has also been approved by the national NHS Pharmaceutical QA committee.
