Revalidation for Non Medical Staff

Clinical Scientists in Nuclear Medicine are registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC). There is no formal re-validation, but registrants are expected to complete CPD which is randomly audited by the HPC to their CPD standards. Individuals can register voluntarily for CPD with the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM) which will record CPD activity and audit on a random basis to the HPC CPD standards.

Clinical Technologists are not statutorily registered. There is a voluntary register held by the Voluntary Register of Clinical Technologists (VRCT). One of the requirements of remaining on the voluntary register is CPD. Again, individuals can register voluntarily for CPD with the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM) which will record CPD activity and audit on a random basis to the HPC CPD standards.
