The BNMS Spring Meeting 2025 will take place at the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) in Glasgow, with a strong focus on sustainability. SEC Glasgow is committed to minimising its environmental impact and is working towards becoming a Net Zero Campus by 2030. The venue has already made strides by using 100% renewable energy, reducing waste, and sourcing food sustainably. The BNMS Spring Meeting will align with these efforts by adopting green practices, such as offering sustainable catering, reducing paper usage through digital resources, and encouraging eco-friendly travel options. The event supports SEC Glasgow’s Net Zero Carbon Events Pledge, aiming to minimise its carbon footprint and create a more sustainable conference experience.
Sustainability Initiatives BNMS is Implementing:
#BYOBottle and Notepad Initiative: To support our sustainability goals, we encourage attendees to join the #BYOBottle and Notepad Initiative by bringing reusable water bottles and personal notepads to the event. This effort reduces
single-use plastic and paper waste, aligning with our eco-friendly mission.
Digital Resources: To minimise paper usage, we are offering all conference materials, such as programmes and abstracts, through digital platforms, making them easily accessible while supporting eco-friendly practices.
Eco-friendly Conference Venue: The BNMS Spring Meeting is hosted at venues that are dedicated to sustainable practices. These venues are recognised for their commitment to green initiatives, including the use of 100% renewable energy,
efforts to reduce waste by eliminating single-use plastics, and promoting the use of reusable H2O bottles. The catering services at these venues also prioritise sourcing food from local, sustainable producers, reducing the overall environmental
footprint of the event.
Badges Without Plastic Wallets: In an effort to reduce plastic waste, we are providing event badges without plastic wallets, promoting more sustainable and minimalistic event materials.
By adopting these small but impactful habits, you’ll be playing an essential role in making the event more sustainable for everyone involved.
