The BNMS Scientific Committee is recruiting for a physicist deputy chair

The British Nuclear Medicine Society (BNMS) is seeking expressions of interest for the role of Deputy Chair, leading to Chair, of the Scientific and Education Committee (SEC), representing the Clinical Scientists Group. 

The role of Chair will be rotational annually from May 2026. 

The SEC advises the Officers and Council of the BNMS on the development and implementation of education and training strategies to support all nuclear medicine professionals.

The SEC is led by two co- Chairs and supported by a Deputy Chair, who together are also responsible for the planning, coordination, and delivery of the scientific programme for the BNMS Annual Spring Meeting. This includes managing the abstract review process and overseeing the allocation of scientific awards.

The Physicist Deputy Chair will represent Clinical Scientists within the SEC. They will contribute to all aspects of the committee’s work, with particular responsibility for developing and coordinating the physics scientific programme at the BNMS Annual Spring Meeting.

This is a voluntary position and is not remunerated
This is a three-year term of office:
Year 1 & 2: Serving as Deputy Chair
Year 3: Progression to Chair of the SEC
