BNMS Mentorship Programme
BNMS Mentorship Programme

We are pleased to announce the new BNMS mentorship programme for BNMS members of all craft groups.

This programme aims to support the development of mentorship relationships and connect BNMS members of all craft groups with a mentor on a one-to-one basis.

The relationship will help mentees to increase their knowledge and confidence and build specific tools and skills. A mentoring relationship is shaped by the wishes, needs and aspirations of the mentee and by the skills and experience of the mentor. It is therefore a unique relationship.

For example, mentors may help you to create future career plans, act as a sounding board to talk through issues, challenge you to face up to difficult challenges, support you to seek out opportunities to address gaps in your experience and knowledge or simply show you the ropes. Mentors provide expertise and role models.

A group of senior BNMS members have been appointed as mentors and have undergone recent training before the programme launch.

Applications are now invited from potential mentees. Mentees must be BNMS members from any craft group.

Mentees will be matched with mentors by a small working group appointed by BNMS Council
