Current reactor issues

Update on current reactor issues:

Unfortunately, the problems with the Belgian BR2 reactor are ongoing, and not expected to be resolved until 20th December at the earliest. This means that there will be ongoing problems with stability of supply for both Mo99/Tc99m generators and I-131 products.

In the meantime, both GE and Curium are sourcing supplies from elsewhere and both companies should be in a position to be able to make some supplies going forward. These may be reduced and may also be subject to variability over the coming weeks. Close communication with them is advised in order to plan services. In addition, it is suggested that Radiopharmacies and Nuclear Medicine departments work together where possible, if required, to try to avoid cancellation of urgent patient studies - such as Sentinel Lymph node biopsies needed alongside planned surgery.
