Cardiac MPS Course 2026
Cardiac MPS Course 2026
26th February 2026 - One day Virtual meeting

This is a joint BNMS/BNCS study day

This one-day myocardial perfusion study course provides a practical, clinically focused overview of SPECT myocardial perfusion imaging. Designed for cardiologists, nuclear medicine physicians, technologists and allied professionals with an interest in nuclear cardiology, the programme covers patient selection, stress techniques, image acquisition, and interpretation within contemporary UK cardiac pathways.

A key feature of the course is interactive, case-based learning, with delegates given online access to myocardial perfusion cases in advance, allowing them to review images and report alongside faculty during guided discussions. The course also addresses the practical aspects of delivering and developing a high-quality myocardial perfusion service.

This course provides 5 CPD credits in accordance with the CPD Scheme of The Royal College of Radiologists
Event objectives:

1. Understand the principles of myocardial perfusion imaging, including stress testing, radiopharmaceuticals, and patient safety.
2. Identify appropriate patients for myocardial perfusion studies and understand how these tests fit into UK cardiac diagnostic pathways.
3. Interpret myocardial perfusion imaging results, recognise common artefacts, and appreciate how findings influence patient management.
4. Understand the practical and governance requirements for delivering a safe, effective myocardial perfusion service in the UK.
