The BNMS Radiographers, Technologists and Nurses (RTN) Committee plays a vital role in supporting and representing the RTN workforce within the British Nuclear Medicine Society. Meeting several times a year, the committee works to unite Radiographers, Technologists and Nurses into one professional community, promote education and professional development, and ensure the RTN voice is heard at a national level.

The committee represents RTNs on the BNMS Council, organises dedicated sessions at BNMS Spring and Autumn meetings, and provides expert advice on issues affecting clinical practice, education and workforce development. By working closely with existing education and training providers, the committee helps to support high-quality learning opportunities for all three professional groups.

The RTN Committee is made up of an incredible group of experienced and dedicated professionals from a wide range of clinical, educational and leadership backgrounds. Members include Radiographers, Technologists and Nurses working across different nuclear medicine specialties, bringing diverse perspectives, expertise and ideas to the table. What unites them is a shared passion for supporting colleagues, improving patient care, and helping the workforce evolve to meet future challenges. Their enthusiasm for education, innovation and professional development ensures the committee remains forward-thinking, inclusive and responsive to the needs of the RTN community. Through collaboration and commitment, the committee continues to drive positive change across the profession.

A highlight of the upcoming year is the RTN programme at the BNMS Spring Meeting. In 2026, Manchester will host a range of engaging sessions including wellbeing and patient voice, management and patient experience, an educational stream, and a sure-to-be-popular interactive “bootcamp” session. These sessions offer practical learning, inspiring stories, and valuable opportunities to connect with colleagues from across the UK. The RTN Committee is incredibly proud of the diverse and high-quality programme they have developed and are excited to welcome the Nuclear Medicine RTN community to join them for what promises to be an inspiring and memorable event.

Looking ahead, the committee aims to continue expanding its educational offerings, strengthening professional networks, and supporting the evolving needs of the nuclear medicine workforce.

All Radiographers, Technologists and Nurses who are associate or full members of BNMS are eligible to join the RTN Committee. Volunteers are asked to attend three meetings per year and contribute their knowledge and experience to support the profession.

RTN members benefit from networking opportunities, professional support, discounted BNMS events, access to the Ros Breen Fund, and involvement in BNMS committees.
