Statutory Registration for Nuclear Medicine Technologists

Nuclear Medicine Technologists can assist in performing complex procedures on patients, operate and manage specialist medical devices and prepare treatments such as radioactive injections. Their work is critical for patient safety and welfare.

We believe they should be subject to statutory registration for the protection of the public. The lack of professional recognition through HCPC registration has, in the BNMS’s opinion, without doubt held back the recruitment, growth and development of the Nuclear Medicine Technologist workforce.
