Getting Here by Rail
High speed trains from London St Pancras to Nottingham and East Midlands Parkway with East Midlands Trains can take as little as 1 hour 45 minutes. The East Midlands Trains network operates from as far north of the UK as Liverpool and from Norwich in the east, as well as surrounding counties.
There is also a direct train from Kings Cross to Newark with London North Eastern Railway which is no more than a 90 minute journey.
Cross Country Trains has an extensive rail network with journey’s from as far north as Aberdeen in Scotland and as far south as Penzance in Cornwall with trains connecting to Nottingham.
Northern Rail provides local, direct train services to Nottingham from Sheffield, Leeds, Barnsley and Chesterfield.
Getting Here by Road
Travelling by Coach
National Express Coaches operate an extensive network of reliable coach services across the UK with services to the city of Nottingham. The direct service from London Victoria to Nottingham takes as little as 2 hours 45 minutes. There is also a regular service from East Midlands Airport to Nottingham which takes just 55 minutes and operates 24 hours a day.
Travelling by Car
The proximity of major motorways and connecting A roads means that Nottinghamshire is easily accessible by car.
From the South the M1 and A1 provide excellent links. The M4, M5 and M42 also connect the M1 from the South West, West Country and South Wales
From Wales use motorway connections from the M6 from North Wales and the M4 from South Wales
From the North West the M62, M60 M1 and A50 will connect you and the A1 from the North East.
Getting Here by Air
Flights to East Midlands Airport are available from Belfast, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Jersey & Guernsey.
Train connections are available from East Midlands Parkway via a Railink shuttle service or the Skylink bus operates from just outside the terminal.
Alternatively, there is a wide range of car rental options based at the airport as well as an onsite private taxi service.
Parking in Nottingham
Metered Street Parking is available, cheaper tariffs can be found in Zone 2 areas near the Albert Hall on, College St and The Ropewalk. The charging period is between the hours of 8am and 8pm and the tariff is variable, Click Here for current charges.
Secure Parking The Albert Hall have secured reduced day and 24hr rates for two nearby multi story car parks. NCP St James Street and NCP Nottingham City on Mount Street. Both these car parks are within easy walking distance. Patrons of the Albert Hall can park at this car park where you will receive a ticket. This can then be validated on your arrival at the Albert Hall reception.
Park and Ride
The Albert Hall is partnered with NET – The local tram network, and are able to offer a £2.00 park and ride return deal. The nearest tram stop is Royal Centre which is just a short walk from the Albert Hall. The closest park and ride is The Forest NG7 6AQ which takes approximately 7 minutes travel time. Simply select the 'Event Ticket' option at any tram stop ticket machine and make sure you have a printed ticket for the event you are attending with you. Failing to have both of these tickets will result in a penalty fare.
